You can't run away from what you Love.

The Crispy Deli's Lechon roll, fresh from the oven.

My first love is cooking.

But I promised myself a long time ago never to go into the food business again. It was when me and the wife started out on our very first business taking orders for the traditional pinoy party favorite, Lechon, to cut a long story short, I got a slipped disc when a pig I was carrying buckled hard, 3 agonizing months of pure hell, for me, that experience redefined what pain man can endure. Fast forward 12 years, last year we started to make lechon rolls, pork belly stuffed with traditional lechon spices and herbs and it was a big hit with friends and family. We decided to setup The Crispy Deli to augment our main business, it started out small and has been gaining in popularity with lechon lovers. Like art, cooking is a never done, its a process, hopefully we'll be able to "perfect" our lechon roll. What is perfection in this context you might ask? Uniformly crispy skin, juicy meat and a taste that will please almost every palate.

Yep, this is somewhat a shameless plug. :D

So yeah, if you have an upcoming birthday, anniversary or any significant life event worth celebrating, hit us up and we'll hook you up with our Lechon Roll! Cheers.

Pinya and garlic bagoong.

One street fruit treat that I found unique to manila streetside vendors is this little gem right here. Its a quarter of a small pineapple doused with a heap of homemade garlic caramelized bagoong. Absolutely delicious.

Steak Sunday!!!

                                                                 Hmm, hmmm, steak.

Me and my two girls went to my brothers house today for lunch and we had STEAK. w00h00. Nothing revs up my appetite more than a manly steak. My bother cooked up a nice rare New York Striploin with mushroom gravy, mashed potatoes, sweetcorn on the cob and side salad. Yes life is good.
